How it all started, and where it wants to go

To find out how ALL of it started, click here.

This, however, is a short history of this blog and all that goes with it.

Let us go back to a a day in early March 2011. The sky was cloudy, with some drizzle in the air, mixed with a barely noticeable smell of sulfur. And a little blond girl (that would be me) was sitting on a lakeside, quite bored, with only her iPod and notebook for company.

And despite the peace and the calm and some lovely tunes, she was getting increasingly worried and anxious. Lonely, in a distant land, and without any pressing deadlines, the weight of the future somehow fell upon her and her heart got dropped into an emulsion made up of panic and excitement. The life had so much in store for her – but only if she decided to go out and take hold of all those amazing opportunities (duh). So she opened a notebook and started writing down lists. Lists of things to do on her travels, lists of things to learn in life, to accomplish during her senior year in college. Parts of those lists are quite impossible to read. The lists also continued to get longer and longer over the following days.

And then there were many more scribbles that don’t have much to do with this blog (send postcards? make a copy of tax documents, etc).

But this is basically it. Some of the ideas are a bit older (like the “How do you do that again?” book). I guess the lists are more or less self explanatory and do showcase the purpose of the blog. I’ll set up goals for myself (from visiting friends and getting enough sleep to finishing a sweater and calling my mom), and set up a Karma point system which will keep track of how I’m doing. I’m also gonna post info on how to make things I like to make, so It’s easily accessible to me, and to you if you wanna be like me. Finally, I’ll try to write down information I find while researching stuff like motorcycles or diving. I’ll also write about my novel, about music that I like and all that fun stuff blogs are for. Hopefully, I’ll be keeping track of how I’m growing/changing/stagnating/wasting time online. I will refer to this paragraph in case I forget why I have a blog in the first place.

Hopefully, this blog will last  longer than all the others which I started and which are now in the broad cemetery of blogs with lest than five posts, blogs that got started with even more enthusiasm than this blog is growing out of and still, died. A moment of silence for all of those blogs. And a moment of happiness for all of those blog authors who decided they have much better things to do in lives, then to write a blog.

Love,

kapowai
